I picked up a guitar at ten years old and taught myself by sitting in front of the radio. No lessons. No clear path. Just obsession and repetition.
That obsession never left. To this day, one of my favorite things is taking a guitar to my luthier — talking tone and feel, hearing how they approach a problem, picking up the little tricks that only come from being in the room. Those conversations are an education in themselves. The problem is most people never get access to them.
I spent years in professional studios and watched countless players who could hear every nuance of an instrument never get a real shot at building a life around it. Not because they lacked skill. Because no one ever built them a front door.
Fretwork Academy is that front door. If you already know you love working with guitars — the feel of a well-set neck, the satisfaction of a clean fret job, the moment a repair brings an instrument back to life — this is built for you. Professional training. Structured mentorship from working luthiers. The business fundamentals to actually build something that pays.
We're building it now.
